We all know that the snark and great one liners are liberally sprinkled throughout all of Jim's books, and there are plenty of sources out there for Dresden quotes (Results 1 - 10 of about 105,000 for dresden files quotes via google). But what about Codex Alera quotes? (Results 1 - 10 of about 12,500 for codex alera quotes. via google). I think we need to spread the funny.

I'm sure there are loads in First Lord's Fury, but lets give it another couple of weeks and I'll do a post for just quotes from FLF. For now, comment with your favourite quotes from the first 5 Codex books.

To make them easy to go through, lets steal the format from IMDBs memorable quotes pages.

[book title, page #]
CHARACTER 1:
CHARACTER 2:
(etc)

or

Quote the entire section of text (much more typing, but at times makes more sense).

Page number would be nice, but I know sometimes the books are not readily at hand to reference.

Ummm... pretty much anything Ehren or Max says, anytime? :D

I'm still working my way through First Lord's Fury (I just got it on Tuesday!!!) but I'll hopefully have it finished by the end of the week, and then I can think about the quotes. :)

BTW: Can I steal the Pants icon? I literally had to put the book down at that point because I was laughing so hard I couldn't breathe. :D

Unfortunately I don't have my books with me, but Max definitely has one of the best lines, also Kitai.

There is a lack of sites with good quotes. Often I want to do icons and can't find sites to get the quotes from.

I reread the entire series to get some good quotes (or that was the excuse, anyway ;P), and completely forgot to write them down! This means I must read them again, yes?! XD

GAIUS PRIMUS: But history can be quite the slattern. (Furies of Calderon, Prologue)

TAVI: (about Doroga) He followed me home! Can we keep him? (Furies of Calderon, Ch. 41)

FIDELIAS: (Clubs his opponent to death)
ALDRICK: That's one way to do it. If you don't mind spattering blood everywhere.
FIDELIAS: You got blood everywhere.
ALDRICK: But mine's in a pattern. It's aesthetically pleasing.
(Furies of Calderon, Ch. 13)

KITAI: I have a bed that could fit a mother gargant giving birth. (Academ's Fury, Ch. 55)

MAX: Legionnares are not afraid of dinner. Dinner is afraid of legionnares. [Princep's Fury, 127]

MAX: ....and not even she would do that with you, no matter how much money or burlap bags were involved! [Princep's Fury, 129]

MAX: Ambassador, in the course of my life, I have more than once been too ignorant to know that something was impossible before I did it anyway. I see no reason to jeopardize that success.
TAVI: It certainy explains your study habits...
[Princep's Fury, 85]

This are just I have written down, from when I read Princep's last week. I wish I had more D:
