I just now found this lovely community. I have no idea why I didn't join sooner. I'm obviously a slacker. But I've been reading this series from the first day it was released. And my love for it just continues to grow. And now that I'm rambled needlessly...I'll answer the ten questions.

Why did you start reading the Codex Alera series? I started reading the Codex Alera series largely because I was already in love with Jim's other series.

Who is your favourite character? My favorite character is actually probably Tavi. A rarity for me, I normally find more love for secondary characters. But a close second would be Max and Kitai.

Do you think Gaius makes a good First Lord? I think he cares for his people. I think he's better than some other options. But I think he is just as guilty as all the other High Lords in looking out for himself first and everyone else second.

Do you believe Tavi will ever have a fury of his own? I've always believed Tavi will have something amazing spring forth. Whether that is a fury or not...eh. But I lean more toward yes.

If you had to align yourself with one of the High Lords, which would it be? I don't know that I would really want to. Well, ok no. Personally I'm a big fan of the Aquitaines. Evil? More than a bit, but they're smart. And willing to work with anyone to further their agenda. I have a soft spot for them.

What is your favourite scene/moment in Furies of Calderon? Um, any scene with Kitai is really high up there.

If you had a fury, what element do you believe it would be? Most likely water, I was always really empathetic growing up.

If you were sent to Alera, and could take one item from our world with you, what would it be? I don't know that there is something I'd really want to take. My favorite pair of jeans would be nice. Comfy = Good.

What do you hope to get out of this community? Mutual Codex Alera squeeing?

In preparation for an upcoming "Alera Love" podcast of the Butcher Block, I'd like to throw the doors open to folks calling in and leaving us a short voicemail message talking about what they love about the Codex Alera, and why.

If you think you'd like to leave a message to be played back on the podcast, just follow these guidelines:

Ok, so i've been a member since shiggy opened this bloody community, but i do believe i have NEVER posted to it.... So figured it was time to... so here is my 10 questions

Why did you start reading the Codex Alera series? Because Shiggy handed me the first book and told me to read it....

Who is your favourite character? Kitai. i adore her, the little whelp that she is..

Do you think Gaius makes a good First Lord? Yes, but at the same time i think he's a stuck up rich guy, which is never a good thing

Do you believe Tavi will ever have a fury of his own? Yes, but if he doesn't thats ok.. he seems to be doing pretty good with out one.

If you had to align yourself with one of the High Lords, which would it be? the Aquitaines. Sure they're evil but I've always liked the evil ones... I mean, i like lord Voldyshorts and not dumbles in potter for goodness sakes...

What is your favourite scene/moment in Furies of Calderon? I really like the the scene in furies with tavi and the whelp... in the forest.

If you had a fury, what element do you believe it would be? Fire i hope.. I like fire *pyro!!!!*

If you were sent to Alera, and could take one item from our world with you, what would it be? my glasses... most definitely my glasses.. i do need to see from time to time.. and i'm virtually blind without them.

What do you hope to get out of this community? Shiggy leaving me alone?
