codex_aleraTen Questions
Why did you start reading the Codex Alera series?
Main reason... it was written by Jim Butcher, and I ate up all the Harry Dresden books up to that point and loved them. After I started reading the first book, I loved how it was so different than that Dresden books. Even though it's written by the same man, it has such a distinct and difference voice all its own.
Who is your favourite character?
Oh goodness, that is hard. I mean, I like Tavi since he is the underdog/odd-one-out with no furies like everyone else. He's just got his wits about him, and he still kicks ass. But I also really like Isana... she just feels classic and wonderful - and also kicks a lot of ass when she needs to.
Do you think Gaius makes a good First Lord?
Yes. I think he's got a good heart even though he doesn't know his wife is a wench. He tries to maintain peace and structure even to the point where it takes a toll on him and his health (reference to Academ's Fury).
Do you believe Tavi will ever have a fury of his own?
Hell yeah, but even if he doesn't, he's still pretty kickass without any.
If you had to align yourself with one of the High Lords, which would it be?
Gaius.
What is your favourite scene/moment in Furies of Calderon?
Oh goodnes, it's been a while since I've read "Furies"... I like battle scenes that are well written. I think I most liked when Tavi was with the Marat. All of that was rather cool and interesting.
If you had a fury, what element do you believe it would be?
Instinctually I would always like to kick ass so I would want to say something like fire or earth... but I think I'd go for something like water. I like the idea of healing people. (But then perhaps I'd be like Bernard and have two furies. Then I'd have one defensive and one offensive. Does that make any sense?) *grin*
If you were sent to Alera, and could take one item from our world with you, what would it be?

Mainly discussion. Only me and my best friend read the books. None of my other friends do.
